Museum District Rocked By Discovery of Body on Kensington

Early this morning Richmond police responded to reports of a deceased woman's body located in the parking lot of 3425 Kensington Ave according to NBC 12.

A body was found lying outside an apartment building this morning at 3425 Kensington Avenue in the Museum District.

Richmond Police said the woman was found around 6:15 a.m. lying face down in the parking lot. The police department's crash team and homicide detectives are both investigating the death.

West of the Boulevard blog has additional informative updates on this tragic death.

Meanwhile the Times-Dispatch article is hosting a rather lively comment thread on whether this death occurred in the west end, museum district or carytown.

WTVR quotes neighbors speculating this incident was a hit and run:

Police are releasing few details, but a crash team is on site as well as detectives. And a neighbor who lives in the complex and saw the body tells CBS 6 he believes the woman may have been a victim of a hit and run.

Dr. Scott Pinks says the marks on the woman's body look like she may have been hit by a car.

Hit & Run

My first thought was that this person got hit by a car. Very few cars stop completely at the stop in front of my house. More than that actually run them going faster than the speed limit. I was scared that someone would get killed. I called the police a few times, as they would have a gold-mine if they just set and actually gave tickets for running stop signs.
